•For 24-hour technical support please dial 6868 from your Iridium phone, or +1 709 748 4226 from any other phone. Have your Iridium phone number or SIM-card serial number ready when contacting support.
•We will only know your satellite phone number once your SIM card has been activated. The quickest way to get your own number is to make a test call from your satellite phone to your cellphone and get your number off the caller ID, otherwise get your SIM card serial number ready and phone our 24-hour support centre, or our Johannesburg office.
•Switch the phone on. When prompted to enter a PIN, the default PIN is 1111.
•In order to make a call stand in an open space with horizon to horizon view, extend the antenna, and ensure to have at least 3 bars of signal.
•To make a call: Use the international number format of “+” followed by a country code, area code (without the leading zero) and telephone number
•When sending SMS messages, to South Africa, it is only possible to SMS to Vodacom cell phones. You should test the SMS service to make sure the country and cellular network you’re sending messages to are capable of receiving it.
•In order for the SMS service to work you need to program the SMS service centre number into your phone – refer to your manual for help. The SMS service centre number is +881662900005.
